I can see it now. A somecard that says "You know that you are a design junkie when you watch Real Housewives of New Jersey just to lust over their gourmet kitchens." I mean really.
I love Real Housewives of [insert city name here] but one thing I love even more than the sensationalism of their outlandish arguments, is the possibility of being able to see Housewife Teresa of New Jersey's kitchen.
Oh yea, and I love watching the Jersey cast eat on the show too. Have you seen the Jersey cast eat? I mean they have full on meals. Like, not a dinner but a real Thanksgiving feast on like a random Monday in April. Anywho-- here's a crash course on how to create your own gourmet or chef kitchen with a few small updates.
1. Add a large kitchen island. These bad boys are sold rather inexpensively at Lowes ( $90 for a smaller one) but one of the major characteristic of a gourmet kitchen is counter space and pluh-enty of it.
2. Built-ins: Either a bookshelf, or built-in stainless steal appliances are often times found in gourmet kitchens. Taking it a step further many designers are matching the appliances to blend in with the cabinets. To fake the built in look, trying add bookshelves, or slabs of wood the same color as your cabinets.
3. High end touches: Stainless steal and granite counter tops are a must in a gourmet kitchen.
4. Counter height: Gourmet kitchens often include lower counter heights.
